According to Pat Sansone, Wilco’s multi-intstrumentalist, the band is headed back into the studio next month to begin recording their follow up to Wilco (the album). The news comes from an interview Sansone did with Pop and Hiss (a L.A. Times music blog): “We’re taking a couple of weeks off,” the multi-instrumentalist, fresh off a […]
One of my favorite discoveries of the year, Local Natives, have released a new video from their debut album Gorilla Manor. The video is for the first song on the album, “Wide Eyes.” It’s one of my favorites off of the album, although not the best. You can check out the strange (but kind of […]
It’s a bad night to have already made plans, considering that there are two very awesome shows going on in Philly tonight: Stars @ The Troc and Rogue Wave/Midlake/Peter Wolf Crier @ the TLA. Stars has been touring in support of their awesome new album, The Five Ghosts. Tickets are still available for $25.50 (after […]
A triple threat tonight at the TLA. First up is the Minnesota duo Peter Wolf Crier, followed by Midlake, and ending with Rogue Wave. Each band has released new albums this year. At first I wasn’t a huge fan of Rogue Wave’s latest release, Permalight, but it’s grown on me over time. Rogue Wave’s latest […]
Song of the Day – Thursday, September 30, 2010 “The Funeral” by Band of Horses, from: Everything All the Time (2006) The new Band of Horses album Infinite Arms isn’t as bad as everyone says it is, in my opinion. It’s got some really good songs (like “Dilly” and “Compliments”), but as good as I […]

Song of the Day – Wednesday, September 29, 2010 “Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)” by Arcade Fire, from: Funeral (2004) In the midst of all of the hoopla surrounding Arcade Fire’s latest release, The Suburbs, people seem to forget that they had already released 4 songs about the suburbs (more or less), and they were all much […]

Midlake has just released a new EP for their song “Fortune.” The EP features an alternate version of the song as well as an acoustic session. It is available today on iTunes and will be available elsewhere soon. Meanwhile, they are on a co-headline tour with Rogue Wave (an excellent live band, btw). That tour […]
Song of the Day – Tuesday, September 28, 2010 “Crush” – performed by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds at Radio City Music Hall, April 22, 2007 “Crush” is one of those songs that seems overrated because of how popular it is, but is actually probably more underrated within the dedicated DMB-fan community. The studio version […]

It was designed by the band’s founder, Avey Tare, and is called The Tobin. As a perk for pre-ordering the $75 shoe, you also get a cassette featuring previously […]
