About

The Swollen Fox is an independent music blog focused on live music in the Philadelphia area. It is a place to stay informed on upcoming concerts and to discover new music. The site aims for a balance between reporting the news on bands you care about and helping you discover new bands to love.

To discover some of that music we love, check out our weekly “Swollen Fox Radio” playlists on Spotify, keep an eye on the “best new music” page, read our show previews and feature articles, and pay attention for our frequent ticket giveaways.

To stay informed and not miss anything, keep an eye on show announcements, advance album streams, new music, and, more generally (and obviously), news. For it all, sign up for our weekly email newsletter here.

For a comprehensive listing of upcoming concerts in the Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania areas, check out the XPN Concert Calendar, powered by The Swollen Fox.

The team
The Swollen Fox is led by founder and editor Kevin Kennedy, who is responsible for all the day-to-day posts—news, announcements, etc.—as well as the weekly Swollen Fox Radio playlist and Ramblings column, and maintaining the XPN Concert Calendar. A small team of contributing writers and photographers help cover live music with previews and concert recaps. (Any post that does not attribute an author by name was written by the editor).

Artist/Band Submissions
If you are in a band or if you work for a band, please feel free to email us at theswollenfox(at)gmail.com. I try to listen to everything that comes into the inbox, but please do not take it personally if it takes a while for me to write back (or if I never get a chance to).
