Usually, we have to wait for one Communion Club Night to pass before getting the lineup for the next. But with September’s edition still more than two weeks away, the October lineup has been announced already. On October 2 at Underground Arts, Quiet Life, Field Report, Birdie Busch, Weekender and Marian Hill will play what might be the best Communion Club Night yet here in Philly.
Field Report in particular is a big draw for this one, with the band’s new album Marigolden due out the week after the show (October 7), it will be a great chance to get an early listen. The two songs we’ve heard from Marigolden so far—“Home (Leave the Lights On)” and “Wings“—are enough to get us excited already.
And the local acts offer a snapshot of the eclectic Philly music scene, with Birdie Busch bringing the folk music, Weekender the psych-rock, and Marian Hill the electro-R&B. Oregon’s Quiet Life will round out the bill with some sincere Americana.
Tickets for the October showcase are on sale now via TicketWeb.
September’s Communion lineup is quite worthy as well, with locals Ron Gallo, TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb and Levee Drivers set to play at Underground Arts on September 4. Diane Birch and Crash will also perform. Tickets are available here.
