David Bowie announces new album The Next Day, releases new song & video

Today is David Bowie’s 66th birthday and he’s celebrating by announcing some big news: his first new album in a decade. The Next Day, Bowie’s 30th studio album, will be released on March 12th via Columbia Records. There’s a new single and video too. The song is called “Where Are We Now?” and the press release from Bowie’s website explains a little about the video…

The single is accompanied by a haunting video directed by Tony Oursler which harks back to David’s time in Berlin. He is seen looking in on footage of the auto repair shop beneath the apartment he lived in along with stark images of the city at the time and a lyric constantly raising the question Where Are We Now?

According to Guardian, one of Bowie’s representatives has said there are no plans for interviews or live dates.
