New summer concert series coming to FDR Park highlights local music

Slowly but surely, summer is coming. And with it comes free outdoor shows of all kinds. This year, a brand new summer concert series is coming to South Philly’s FDR Park. As you can see from the poster above, local artists Dani Mari and Rev. TJ McGlinchey have teamed up to present a free show in FDR Park every month from June to September. All shows take place on a Friday night from 7 to 10 P.M. and are free to attend.

The series will feature local acts, kicking off on Friday, June 8th with Griz and Kevin Killen. July’s concert will take place on the 27th with Toy Soldiers and Thom McCarthy. August 31st will be the third installment with performances by Ben Arnold and Johnny Miles. And the series will wrap up on September 28th with Andrew Lipke and Railroad Fever.

The series is sponsored by FDR Park, Prudential Savings Bank, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and Larry Magid Entertainment Group.
