While we await details of the Boot & Saddle renovation, Laura Veirs is telling us that it will be open by this fall. The Oregon-based singer-songwriter has announced a U.S. fall tour that will quickly find its way to Philadelphia, with a show scheduled for September 20th at Boot & Saddle.
The old country & western bar is being renovated by Four Corners Management, the team that has brought Philadelphians Union Transfer, Morgan’s Pier, Dolphin Tavern, as well as many others. R5 Productions will be taking care of the live music booking duties, as they do for those aforementioned venues. Though R5 has not confirmed the Veirs show, the “buy tickets” link on her site does link to R5 Productions. It would appear to be just a matter of time before details of the re-opening and music schedule emerge.
The tour for Veirs will be in support of the new album she announced yesterday, Warp and Weft, which will be released on August 20th. You can stream the lead single, “Sun Song,” via NPR.org.
