For a seventh consecutive year, the River City Festival will take over Penn Treaty Park in Fishtown for a day of music, beer, food and craft vendors, preceded by a 5k run. This year’s lineup is the festival’s biggest yet, with Matt Pond set to headline and support from local bands The Lawsuits, TJ Kong & the Atomic Bomb, Levee Drivers, Pine Barons, Ginger Coyle and Katie Barbato (via The Key).
The festival takes place on Saturday, October 11 from noon-6 and is free to attend. A $20 donation, which goes to support the Fishtown Neighbors Association, gets you access to a “private hospitality tent” and a bottomless cup for beverages provided by Philadelphia Brewing Company and Neshaminy Brewing. In simpler terms: pay $20 and drink as much beer as you want. Participants in the River City Run before the festival also get access to the hospitality tent. Registration information is forthcoming.
