New Music: Snowden – “Keep Quiet”

After Snowden‘s 2006 debut Anti-Anti, principal songwriter Jordan Jeffares found himself in a contract dispute that “put the kibosh on whatever career momentum he had gained,” explains a press release. “Trapped in legal limbo,” Jeffares has spent the years since working on the songs that will make up the new album. In 2011, after signing with Kings of Leon’s Serpents & Snakes Records and got to work with producer Bill Skibbe (The Dead Weather, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) in his Michigan studio.

Now based in Austin, Jeffares is readying Snowden’s long-awaited sophomore LP, No One in Control, which will be released on May 14th. Today, they have released a new single, “Keep Quiet,” along with a couple of remixes. Stream the album cut below and check out the remixes here.

Snowden has a short U.S. tour scheduled for next month, including a stop in Philly at Johnny Brenda’s on February 20th. Tickets are available here.
