Last year, WXPN’s annual XPoNential Music Festival tried something new. Expanding beyond their usual space at Wiggins Park in Camden, they included a couple of shows at the Susquehanna Bank Center just a short walk away. On Saturday night, they had Wilco, The Avett Brothers, and Dr. Dog play at the amphitheater and allowed XPoNential attendees lawn access (reserved seats were sold separately). The experiment seemed to be a big success and it will return again this year. XPN just announced on the air the first details of this year’s festival: that The Lumineers and Dr. Dog will play at the Susquehanna Bank Center on Saturday, July 27th (the festival is the 26th through 28th).
Lawn seats for the show will be included with all 3-day passes to the XPoNential Music Festival. Tickets for reserved seats will go on sale this Friday at 10 A.M. via Live Nation. A special pre-sale for XPN members only will begin tomorrow at 10 A.M. 3-day passes for the festival will go on sale on April 16th. More information is forthcoming.
The Lumineers were just in Philly last week for a sold out show at the Tower Theatre. A few hours beforehand, they played a secret show at Johnny Brenda’s. Check out a recap of that show here. Past coverage of numerous Dr. Dog shows can be found here.
