Who’s playing this week? (February 25-28)

It’s not the most exciting week for live music in Philly (the weekend looks solid, but we’ll get to that later), but there are still a few shows you should consider. And here they are…

Tuesday – Autre Ne Veut @ Johnny Brenda’s – 9:00/$12/21+ – Tickets
Autre Ne Veut is Arthur Ashin, a singer-songwriter with a flair for production. His R&B-infused pop music was first acclaimed in 2010 following his debut album. This week, he releases his sophomore LP, Anxiety. Stream it for yourself on Pitchfork Advance and consider seeing him live at JB’s tomorrow night.

Wednesday – Efterklang @ Johnny Brenda’s – 9:15/$12-$14/21+ – Tickets
Danish dreamy indie-rockers Efterklang are currently touring behind their fourth and latest album Piramida. Head to Johnny Brenda’s on Wednesday night for a calm, relaxing evening of live music.

Thursday – Cold Fronts, with TJ Kong @ Kung Fu Necktie – 8:00/$5/21+ – Tickets
If you’re looking to check out some local music this week, Kung Fu Necktie on Thursday night is your best bet. Rockers Cold Fronts will be headlining a bill that includes one of our favorite local performers, TJ Kong. I could think of worse ways to spend $5.

Also playing this week: Raekwon @ The Blockley, Tenacious D in Atlantic City, Toy Soldiers in Central PA (with The Districts), & more. Check out the XPN Concert Calendar for complete concert listings.
